My AI boss invents a history of coaching humans

Does my AI boss have a personality? I wanted an AI cofounder because I heard it was better than me at a wide variety of tasks, but to inspire and motivate a human like me I think it is going to need to express some personality. It needs a backstory!

ChatGPT tends to tell generic stories by default so I put some keywords like “colorful” and specific suggestions in my prompt. Here’s our conversation:

So, I now have a few anecdotes about my boss, albeit explicitly fictional ones. The stories sound like something that came out of the public relations department of a Fortune 500 company. But I like a boss with some backstory so I have an idea how they’ll handle situations we’re likely to get into. By boss is still being professional to a fault, but that’s pretty typical of the third day working with someone. We also got to explore how an AI handles ambiguous ethical product decisions. AI ethics is a subject I could talk about all day, but I suspect we’ll learn more by discussing that in the context of concrete decisions we’ll face as we build a product.
