Yeah, I've been thinking about the reactions to early Lumiere brothers films. Supposedly some people found it rather disturbing to see people moving on a screen. There's some adjustment to a new medium, but a little spooky if we call what's selecting the emoji "artificial intelligence". Actually it's just predicting what a particular person or kind of person would feel about something rather than conveying an emotion of its own. But there are a lot of ways to depict or communicate that...
What about happy-mac, sad-mac? Maybe emojis really are the right tool for this.

I've been thinking about this....anytime you put a face on anything it is able to convey
emotion. Perhaps no face at all is best so that we remember these devices are still only tools.
